The workshops at Cake International provide you with an opportunity to learn from some of the most talented artists in the cake industry.  In small classroom settings, you receive a hands on learning experience, get exclusive access to techniques, tips and tricks from your tutor of choice.  

Workshops spaces are limited to ensure the very best tuition possible. Every effort is made to move the class along but as each student works at a different speed and/or level, we cannot guarantee you will complete the finished piece in the allotted time.

Full day workshops include lunch and refreshments. All equipment is provided (to be returned at the end of your session). Workshop tickets give you entry to the main show.

Ameera by Elza Baldzhiyska

Saturday 2nd November 09.00 – 17.30hrs (8/5 hours)

In this full day, hands on class Elza will show you how to sculpt facial features, particularly working with dark edible modelling materials, the easy and fast way.  Hand painting with edible colours, achieving a beautifully realistic finish and of course learning from a very experienced teacher!

Elza started her creative life as an art teacher in Bulgaria, she moved to London and began experimenting with edible mediums, finding her love working with cake.  Elza thrives on challenges and found one of her biggest was a live demo with Joey Sugar King in China.  Elza has numerous awards with Cake Artist World, Moscow, and has performed life size demos in Moscow and Lima, she believes life demos are the hardest part of teaching because you can’t always control your hands!  Elza loves nothing more than passing her skills on to her students.

Chef Mikey by Michael Wehrmann

This workshop will teach students how to create this adorable Chef Mikey character.

Mikey is a 30CM high modelling chocolate sculpture and includes various techniques and sugar pastes.

  • Mikey will be made on a cake structure
  • We will work on a dummy
  • You will Learn where to pay attention at while making a cartoon figurine
  • We will sculpt with modeling chocolate in an active posture
  • Dress him up with modelling paste

Michael is 36 years old, born and raised in the Netherlands but living in France for over 14 years. He is a graduated pastry chef but the basics were not exciting enough. Covid made him discover cake design in a different way, started painting, sculpting and modelling with all edible materials. Love Modelling chocolate.

Since 2021 he has entered several show which made won him 7 golds, a best in category and a best in show. Michael has been doing demonstrations on the Saracino stand since 2022. Since  2024 he has been a Saracino Tutor , judge of the French cakedesign championship and will also be a part of sugarscreams presented at CI.

In this full day, hands on class you will get to learn from Aimee and create this stunning design. You will leave having been taught skills and techniques to use on future cakes.

Christmas Cake Pop Tower by Lisa Cheng

During this workshop, attendees will be taught the following skills:

  • Making cake pops using a cake pop maker, including the recipe and techniques involved

After classical and university training, she dedicated herself to restoration and decoration, giving life to a long collaboration with important companies in the sector, which led her to obtain great job satisfaction. Goda was born and raised in Lithuania.  Goda has always had a passion for the arts since her childhood including acting, singing and dancing.  Goda left Lithuania and moved to Demark, where she stayed for 7 years.  Goda started her business in 2016 when she moved to London where she discovered, by good fortune, that she could model and sculpt.  Goda has won a variety of awards including Cake International virtual gold awards.  Goda is a part of Sugar Screams and this year will be demonstrating on Cake&Cake stand at Cake International and bringing two sculptures to display.

Join Adelina in this unique workshop as she shows you how to sculpt “Drew”; a 3D head. Adelina will give you access to a Facebook group during the lesson which will include videos of the process of creating the eyes, enabling you to create these in your own time.  You will be sculpting the entire head yourself using Cake&Cake products.  

This workshop includes the following techniques – 

  • How to create a 3D head on a board
  • How to sculpt facial features using modelling chocolate

Born and raised in Romania, Adelina has been artistic since childhood. She took private lessons in painting and drawing but didn’t follow an artistic education and went on to get a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics. Adelina travelled the world with her family before settling in Italy, inspired by its immense artistic heritage, she was able to rediscover her passion for art and there she became involved with Cake&Cake and today works for the company.

Adelina’s love is modelling and sculpting and in 2019 was involved in the Stephen King feature at Cake International, as well as a finalist at the Cake Masters Awards in the Modelling Excellence category.

All reasonable steps will be taken to ensure our workshop areas are made safe.

All full day workshops include lunch and refreshments.

All materials and equipment required to create the piece advertised provided. You will be able to take home your finished piece (not the equipment supplied).

It might be necessary for some small items to be supplied by the student, a list will be sent to you before the workshop.

The student is responsible for their own travel costs to and from the workshop.

Please be aware that it is possible that the workshop may run over the expected finish time.

Due to such a high demand for places, the full payment is required upon booking.

Please be aware that once the full payment has been made, we are unable to refund so please double check travel arrangements before committing to a workshop.
